Respectful Guidelines In Dance Class

  • Respect the Instructors): Please refrain from talking when instructions are being given. Be respectful on the dance floor and control your space.
  • Be on Time: Every effort is made to begin class on time. If you are late, please remain in the back of the room to eliminate distractions to others. The instructor will not start over just to accommodate you. Instructions will be given again at the appropriate time.
  • DEMO: When the instructors) is demoing a dance, DO NOT attempt to show others your dance skills. Demo is for the purpose of showing the class a snapshot of the dance to be taught. This is not a time to socialize! Please watch carefully, and once the demo is complete, the dance will be taught to participates. 
  • Sitting Out: If for some reason you cannot participate in a dance and decide to sit out, take a mental note of the dance. Do not sit and hold conversations with others not dancing. This can be a distraction to others on the dance floor. If you must leave, please do so quietly.
  • Eating and Drinking: Absolutely no food or drinks are permitted on the dance floor. Water bottles should be placed on the floor against the wall, on tables, etc., to avoid any accidental spills. 
  • This is an ADULT class: This is NO A CHILDCARE FACILITY and childcare will not be provided during class time. 
  • Cell Phone Use: Please turn off or silence your cellphone and/or smart- watch phone before class begins. If you need to place or respond to a call, please step outside of the dance hall.
  • No Mistakes: No such thing. This is a stress-free class, so it’s all about having fun. Don’t hesitate to ask the instructor to repeat the step(s) if you are not sure. There is only one instructor at a time, so do not try to teach others the dance while the instructor is teaching.
